Welcome to my page which mainly details my conversion from the factory 4.3V6 engine to a 5.7V8 engine.
UPDATE/SINCE THE WRITING OF THIS WEBPAGE I HAVE CHANGED THE ENGINE TO A NEW STOCK L31 255hp 350 V8 ///THE 700R4 TRANNY HAS BEEN UPGRADED AND THE 3.27 REAREND IS STILL STOCK////////The van is a 1988 Astro cargo van which currently has 223,000miles and still going like the Energizer bunny,the original tranny lasted till 222,500miles and the original V6 lasted till 181,000 miles,it was then replaced by a newer V6 which was then replaced by the V8.It is paneled and has a removable bed and carpet which get pulled out when it gets used to carry equipment which is at least once a week.It also does general duty towing my 5000lb boat and this coming year will be towing my Lincoln around to car meets when possible.My Astro is rated at 1500lbs payload or 5500lbs towing which is the same as most base fullsize pickups.The best part of it all? I have spent less than 3,000 dollars total on it including the purchase price since I bought it 3 years ago,If only if all cars were this good.
Its soundsystem consists of 1"Selenuim horn drivers,2 12" Altec speakers and 2 15" JBL woofers,,currently theyre all driven by a coustic 240w amp but soon will be getting a dedicated bass amp,,the system is mounted so that it can be used out the rear doors for portable sound reinforcement for Djs and live bands.
